Free Republic ^ | 1/1/08

Posted on 01/01/2008 3:39:37 PM PST by Mr. Brightside

We surprised our kids with a Christmas puppy. We have not settled yet on a name and we need your help.

If my family chooses the name you suggest, a donation will be made to Free Republic in your (screen)name.

Chaos. It’s always appropriate while the dog is a puppy.

After reading some of the suggestions, I go with these as possibilities:
Nutmeg (that was a great one - give that girl a dollar)
Cinnamon
Honeysuckle
Pattycake

We named the puppy Roxie.

A fine and fitting name- when we got the old girl we lost last year, the shelter had named her "Tabitha," and we decided that was a little too tongue-twisting for early morning callouts, so we changed it to "Taffy..."

Brevity is not only the soul of wit, it keeps you from sounding foolish when you summon the dog at 3 AM.

I LOVE the name Roxie (note to self: put ‘Roxie’ on future name list). Give the pup a BIG hug for us!

Roxie:
The name on everybody’s lips
Is gonna be Roxie
The lady rakin’ in the chips
Is gonna be Roxie!

Good choice.

I agreed to the name (like I had any real choice in the matter) because of the 80s rock group Roxy Music.

My favorite Roxy Music song is, “(I Would Do Anything) To Turn You On.”

Not bad make out music either.
