P.S. I have Velikovsky's Worlds in Collision on order. If you've read it, I wonder if I might expect similar stories???
Prior to worship of the Sun, although today it is a mere speck in the night sky, with nothing much to to distinguish it to the average layman, Saturn was considered the chief God and the source of light. This worship of Saturn, by one name or another, was universal around the world. Why?
The Polar Configuration hypothesis proposes that in ancient times, within human history, the luminary that lit up our skies was not Sol but Saturn. Solar worship was a late comer in mythology. Saturn was oriented in a polar axis along with Mars and Venus and as such remained stationary in the Norther Sky. This configuration would then agree with ancient mythology from around the world.
The picture is a representation of what you might have seen in the sky above the north pole if you lived in the "golden age."
