I feel like I got hit in the head with a toolbox...
It was amaaaaaaaaazing...!
izzit 2010 yet?
Bored meeting then another meeting today. Y’all discuss LOST. I’ll catch up later in my own timeline...
But on the whole, after a bit of reflection, it was a pretty good and intense ending. I mean...do we have two Lockes from different times, or is one someone else entirely? We were speculating that if it *isn't* really Locke, maybe it's the guy who was talking to Jacob way back in the first scene of the first episode of the evening. The guy in the black shirt. And are they ever going to explain Richard to us?
Spoiler font there, by the by.
What kind of ticked me off... is the probability that Locke really is dead, and that the "revenant Locke" is actually someone else using Locke's appearance to return to the island. Jacob's comment to him, "You found your loophole," made me think that it was someone who was barred from returning to the island as himself, so he had to take on someone else's appearance to get around that.
On another note... after however-many-seasons-it's-been of seeing Ben as the mastermind/know-it-all it was nice seeing him being mentally whacked-around by the Pseudo-Locke, and basically seeing just how totally out of his depth Ben really was. Also, it appears several immortals occupy the island: Jacob, Richard Alpert, possibly the dark-haired guy at the beginning, maybe Elana? (if I remember her name right...)
My two cents, anyway.
We were warned that Jacob would be killed, the question is... what was he really? It's clear that neither Jacob nor the guy who may be impersonating Locke were "Normal" guys. They have some powers, to be places, to know things, they couldn't really know. And it doesn't explain Smokey, or the appearance of both Christian and Alex, or Charlie, or any of the other 'dead' people who have shown up.
I thought the final scene at the foot was more interesting than whatever inane motivations were driving Jack and Sawyer and Kate and the rest. Really? It's all about Kate? Kate's not all *that*, in fact, I'm tired of her and I wish it was her who went in the hole.
Heh...definitely agree on the Ben stuff. It’s realllly hard on him not being the big cheese anymore. And it’s fun to watch.
Kate's not all *that*
Well, I wouldn't kick her off the island, if you get muh drift...
That said, I have these questions?
Tall ship = "Black Rock?" and/or the ship Richard was building in the bottle last week (okay, I stole that from Entertainment Weekly)
Guy with Jacob = him-who-looked-like-Locke, but is he also him-who-looked-like-everyone-else?
Also from Entertainment Weekly. Richard's Latin answer to "What likes in the shadow" translates to He who will save us all.
And, this time will use spoiler font just for grins Juliet and Miles were the only ones not visited by Jacob in a flashback. Miles didn't have a flashback and the one with Juiet was Jacob-free. EW speculates that Jacob was giving them a "failsafe" by touching them. Meaning, they will survive the blast. Not so for Juliet and Miles...hmmmm...
Discuss. I'm off to another meeting...
They’ve killed many of the people I found more interesting.
There were times last night when all we needed for it to make less sense was for *Tony* to jump channels and be exposed as the leader of the whole cabal. ;~)
I’m not sure that the reason he keeps bringing people there to try...whatever it is...is necessarily bad, either. I still think he may be the “good” guy.
I just got out of a meeting. But I think the head-up-the-buttedness of that second post will doom that thread.
I mean. Fercryinoutloudpeople.
Just doing my part. :~)
ROTFL! I didn’t read any of the posts, at first, just saw the name of the thread.
Some of us
don’t watch LOST
at all.
