We have a knife for him that we have to mail him... he couldn’t take it after graduation and we got delayed. Will make sure he’s got it before he leaves for the sandbox.
I think what I’ll do is wait for him to get over there, find out what his daily life is like, and then talk to you.
Heh, Corin, I think you may be right! We’ve never had this problem in the 33 years we’ve lived here until now. Except, the landlordwhoownsmostoftheblock, recently loosened his “no pets” policy and the house across the street, where Jackson ~lives~, became an office about 18 months ago, and hair can’t be blamed for either.
I got the kitten (Ziggy) back to its owner early this morning and told her where I lived for the next time he got lost. We’re three houses away from her, but the kitten is just too little to figure out where he lives. She needs to keep him in!
When in doubt, a high-tech LED flashlight is always appreciated.
I just downloaded the 2003 Windows version. It's been expanded with new races and classes. NetHack was (and probably still will be) a favorite time sink, even in this high-tech game world. I even have versions on my Palm Pilot.
My one problem is that I spent sooo many years playing it keyboard-only that I have a really hard time playing it on anything without a full keyboard.
Guilty confession: at one point, I actually bought an add-on number pad for a laptop (don’t have either one anymore) *just* for the purposes of playing NetHack.
We have one of those floating around that we’ve used on various games... ought to get it hooked up again now, might make playing World of Warcraft while holding the baby easier. Although so far I haven’t done too badly.
Sure. We just need to put some velcro on it and attach it to the baby’s diaper. Then the hand you are holding her with can use the pad while the other uses the mouse.
This morning I was asking myself why FR seemed to go out at exactly the same time as our water.... coincidence? I THINK NOT! ;)
There was apparently a new leak under the garden. Some lettuce was killed in the process of finding it. He's in the process now, of 'making it look real nice'. :~)
Braggart...
“I could best you with one hand behind my back—and a baby on my lap!”
It's a conspiracy!
You know, you'd think by now those pipes would have been replaced, buried deep enough, something.
It's fixed now?
These days I’m mostly healing five-man parties. When I fight other players I usually lose :)
It’s fixed ‘for now’ but he said it was just a quick fix, he needs to run to Ace or somewhere and get something. It’s still dripping.
Those pipes are just very old and very brittle. They crack on a whim. The whole line ~should~ be replaced. It could crack anywhere, any time.
My point exactly. How much money has he really saved, just patching them over and over? It's rather silly.
So he’ll likely be in the Green Zone? My nephew returned from there in March. This was his second tour, and he was with Special Forces this time. The first was in Afghanistan, as an Apache Longbow pilot with the Air Cav.
They say he won’t be leaving the base in Baghdad, so yeah, Green Zone.

I don’t waaa-na.
And neither did the thread, apparently.
I have a bloomer question. So to speak.
About three weeks ago we bought three very nice hanging baskets. They had a couple of different plants in each, but mostly the wave petunias. They were full of blooms.
Thenurserylady sez “you don’t have to feed them, or even deadhead the blooms, they’ll bloom all summer if you keep them watered.”
I don’t know if we missed a day when it was nasty hot (we haven’t had many) or if they got beat up by all the rain storms. But they’ve all but stopped blooming. I’ve been deadheading them. But so far, not much luck.
Is it hopeless?
