I remember watching this episode many times back when this show was still broadcast on free rabbit ear TV. I’m one of the die hards that refuses to pay for something that was once mostly free, until cable and satellite slowly steal away all the great shows like above.

I discovered that 32 hours of “Leave it To BEAVER” will air during the Christmas Holiday on one of the DTV sub channels. I’m sure the Cleaver’s were staunch Conservatives in their show. But in real life I’m sure they are as liberal as most other Hollywood Card carrying members.

Merry Christmas to all Freepers out there. Drive safely.......

I don't know for sure, but I believe Hugh Beaumont was quite a stand-up guy. Very religious. He retired and ran a Christmas tree farm before he passed away.

Actually....Jerry Mathers is a gun owner and NRA member, and if I recall correctly, Tony Dow (Wally) and Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell) has joined him from time to time on some NRA sponsored shooting events. AND Ken Osmond was a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department for 18 years (1970-88), retiring only after he got shot in the line of duty (his belt buckle and bullet proof vest saved his life). Ken Osmond has also been married to the same woman since 1970.

"And the best part about it, Wally, is stopping cars with hot chicks in them, for no reason other than I want to get a better, closer look at them and get their phone numbers and addresses. And if their boyfriends give me lip, why, I just hit them upside the head with my nightstick...or cave in their headlights with the butt of my shotgun. Their chicks really go for it! You should see the look on some young kids face when I put the barrel of my revolver in their mouths! Some of them even piss their pants! Oh, hello Mrs. Cleaver, I was just informing young Wallace here about the many benefits of being a police officer..."

Turner and Viacom bought up the syndication rights to these programs years ago, and then moved them to their pay tv franchises.

It’s one thing to pay to own a series on DVD, it’s something else altogether to pay to watch the same programs on tv that used to be free AND still have to watch commercials.
