Here’s a theory...

arrows invented modern man, not the other way around. When primitive man invented arrows, the tech changed man into the modern type. How? A completely different skill set and physiological traits suddenly became competitive and dominant in a man versus arrow world.

The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

The missing technology, along with climate change and competition with arrow-shooting humans, may have contributed to the Neanderthals' eventual extinction.

OMG, the early humans were driving around in SUVs, caused global warming, and that killed off the Neanderthals.

Breaking news in the next MSM news cycle, film at 11.

The Neanderthals, now known as DemocRATS, are still using those kinds of weapons. Whoops! No spearheads!

...Neanderthals made sophisticated weapons and tools -- possibly including the first sticky adhesive -- but they lacked the projectile weapons possessed by early humans.

Never bring a sticky adhesive to a projectile weapon fight.

"While we are not suggesting that modern humans were directing projectile weapons against Neanderthals, it is certainly possible that at times they did so,"

Just like Eagles fans.

A corollary to this is the theory that Cro-Mags and Neandertals could coexist, with the Cro-Mags using projectiles to hunt small game, while the Neandertals concentrated hand-to-hand slaughter of megafauna, which their superiour physical prowess. Once the climate shifted and the megafauna began to dwindle, the balance shifted decisively in favour of the Cro-Mags.

One side had range weapons, the other side, personal weapons.

We see who ‘won’.
