Better yet, send him out there to it with the apology and a big hug.

Best bet is maybe we can just get it to land on Mecca or Moscow.

Now Apophis is a perfectly nice rock that has never done anything to anyone. Why would you want to do something so mean to it as have it end up in one of those two cities. Apophis had to spend the last four billion years wandering the cold, desolate reaches of space and you want to send it to Moscow, the only place colder and more desolate. I mean it's the poor things first visit to Earth. Perhaps LA or San Francisco. I'm sure they would show Apophis a bang of a good time. /sarc

Nobody panic, I got this covered.

ROFLMAO!!!

Good! Cause I sucked at that game.... if it were up to me, we'd all die on the third screen.

I was just thinking: 2029? Hmnn... that's a target of something worth trying to live to see... that, and grandkids, of course.

ROTFLMAO

I used to have the top score on asteroids for several years. Nobody ever beat it. The diner finally replaced the machine with a Space Invaders one.

Thanks decimon.
Exactly 20 years from today, an asteroid about the size of a 25-story building will come closer to Earth than the networks of communications satellites orbiting the planet. The chance of an impact are extremely remote -- only about 1 in 45,000 -- but the asteroid, named Apophis, will be back. Analysis of the asteroid's orbit show it will return to Earth seven years later. Astronomers don't yet know if Apophis' second visit will be a rendezvous or a collision, as its orbit will be bent by Earth's gravity during the 2029 flyby.

By 2029 I'll be of an age where my main response would be to buy a bottle of the best single malt Scotch I can find, stretch out in a chaise lounge and watch the sucker come in. Let the young ‘uns run around in a panic.

Well, let’s hope and pray we make it to 83. I will be 82, if the Lord lets me live.

Question is...even if it hit Earth...how much of it would be burned up on entry? Would it hit Earth at say a 20 story building versus a 25 story building?

I hope not. 1/3 of the seas turned to blood, 1/3 of the shipping destroyed....

Look for the sun and moon to 1/3 dark as well preceding impact.

Wormwood, indeed.

Everyone pays heed to Nostradamus and other hokum...but to Revelation? Oh, no, we don’t believe in that. (Ignoring the obvious!)
