In the Nicolas Cage movie, the entire earth is burned to a crisp and certain children (and bunny rabbits) are chosen to take the Alien Shuttle to some new Garden of Eden in a different solar system. Or something like that. It was a strange movie and I only saw it because I live right down the road from the MIT observatory that was featured in it.
Anyway, I'm not that worried. Whatever happens, happens.
