And why is the discussion limited to contemporary philosophers? There are none of note.
Even if no philosopher had ever learned even a scintilla of science, that would not fit scientists to leap into philosophy in middle age, with no study of what had gone before.

The reason I limited it to “contemporary philosophers”, was to separate the question from philophers such as Plato, Aristotle and Empedocles who really did promulgate scientific propositions.
(My chidren, who are in a charter school were all prepared when their teacher asked them to name the four classic elements. “African elements, Asian elements. circus elements and parade elements”. They have developed something of a “reputation”.)
I would agree with you that there are no contemporary philosophers of note, which is why I worded it the way I did.
