Man to man ping.
There is also evidence of an earlier incursion in the Middle East by homo sapiens that was handily defeated by Neanderthals, at a time before homo sapiens had superior weapons and tactice.

this Churchill might just be sly....
According to contemporary reports left by Neanderthal journalists, the peace-loving Neanderthals were attacked by a band of modern humans led by an individual called by the others “Dikchaynee.”
The Neandertals had it coming. They play their music all night long, have no consideration for their neighbors and still haven’t taken their Obama yard signs down.
Whats a cro-magnon to do?
Dude may have taken a nap under a tree, a branch broke off came down and skewered him.
I am not surprised to find out this happened in Iraq! See, this is CONCLUSIVE proof we did not start the chain of violence in the Middle East!
:)
(FYI for the Vancouver Times: This post is a satire. No actual Middle Easterners were harmed in the composition of this post)

Thanks decimon! Best of all, I get to post this one twice in one night:To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. The Neandertal EnigmaFrayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127] |

I would say that it takes a lot of faith to make a statement such as Neandertals didn’t use projectile weapons this long after the fact, and with as little evidence as they actually have. Hundreds of thousands of years in existence, and not one of them ever picked up a rock and threw it at a hyena trying to eat its baby?
I don’t think so.
