"saveliberty" is Hospitalized (Update from saveliberty at #1568)
via saveliberty | Sunday 23 August, 2009 | FOXFANVOX

Posted on 08/22/2009 10:29:53 PM PDT by FOXFANVOX

Hi All,

I just received an e-mail from "saveliberty" advising me she has been hospitalized. The cause as she wrote was:

"I have a significant, but benign tumor near my ear that is pushing against a nerve (which hemorrhaged). It sounds bad but I have excellent care."

It certainly does sound serious to me, even though saveliberty said she was being well cared for. She did want me to let her FRiends here know of her condition. When I get further info, I will post it.

In the mean time, if you could add saveliberty to your prayers, I know she would be comforted by that.

saveliberty is often the Threadmistress, and I am but a poster. So, if you all could perhaps place saveliberty's situation in the proper locations, I would be very grateful. [Or Moderators, if you are reading this.]

Get well soon, saveliberty!

Good luck with your computer recovery efforts, FOXY!

I will console myself with pizza tonight - actually, that’s today’s food test. I hope that it works out.

I will keep my fingers crossed that your computer will be repaired soon!

Cheers and (((hugs)))

UPDATE on saveliberty:

I just got a call from saveliberty saying she is headed off to the hospital ER. It sounds like SL is experiencing some gastrointestinal difficulties. She has had some problems with various foods, as you may recall, and part of the challenge is that the acceptable foods that she can tolerate are changing. So, SL is hoping that the doctors can discover what is causing the pain and her eating difficulties.

saveliberty will keep us posted on progress when she is able. For now, just continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Note: I have lost my Ping list when my computer crashed. Anyone who has one, please Ping this post. Thank you.

Wonder if soy has ever been taken out of the diet...My BIL is a food scientist/ engineer and about 30 years ago he worked for the soy industry. Twenty two of the twenty three scientist said we should NOT be eating soy. It caused among other things stomach/intestinal problems not to mention the endocrine problems....They fired all twenty two.

I am one person who cannot tolerated any soy....No salad dressing, margarine, creamers etc etc etc...The gov even allow a small percentage to be added to ground beef and still keep the 100% label....

Thank you for your good wishes and prayers everyone!

I was reticent to go to the ER as I could still walk on my own and I wasn’t sprouting blood or losing major body parts. However, it turned out to be a very good plan to go there.

They ran some tests, gave me an IV of saline solution as I was not permitted to drink anything, let alone have anything to eat. I received excellent care; the nurse even gave me a warmed blanket with the IV as the solution was so cold.

Eventually, we met with our nurse, physician’s assistant and the doctor. After a thorough examination, the doctor ruled out any of the scary possibilities.

Yay!

We did talk about doing a CT scan of my abdomen. She felt that the risks associated with drinking the contrast and the X-Rays were too high and she referred me to doctors in the same hospital with whom I could schedule follow up procedures.

This is a relief to my folks and it’s a weight off of my shoulders, too.

I was discharged and then we went to the cafeteria to get something to eat. My first food of the day...at 6pm.

Now I am trying to get warm by drinking hot water ( LOL goofy, I know).

Thank you all again! :)

(((Hugs)))
