The best argument for banning refrigerants was that the patents were about to expire and they wanted to corner the market. I thought I was the only one that noticed the correlation between patents expiring, the worldwide ban and new refrigerants.

Look at the banning the propellent of Albuteral inhalers and their move to genaric.
By banning them, a ten dollar copay has turned into a 50 dollar one. Most every asthmatic had one.
