I posted this....but I am not clear on some of the technical facts...exactly what part of the ocean are we measuring...guessing from the context it is the Pacific El Nino and La Nina area that has such a large influence on the Global Climate....
The graphing techniques can be misleading for someone not up to speed....guess I am in that group.

I think a large percentage of us are in that group. As to what part of what ocean basin the measurements where conducted in. I believe the main article is referencing measurements in the southern pacific.
