What did you do after you went SK? ;)

“What did you do after you went SK? ;)”
Hey, I am not SK, yet !!!!!!
Anyway, a fire destroyed my home and station.
I never recovered, other then to buy a Yaesu 890
for chat with my old DX club friends.
I have been totally inactive since leaving the USSA in Jan. 2005.
And anyway, it's hard to tell sometimes. I asked at the last meet and greet if anyone knew how to convert a Collins aircraft radio from 400 hz mains to 60 hz.
Yep. Everyone.
I started my ham career in the early '70s, and I've still got an ARC-5 with a cat's eye tube out in the garage.
We don't ever really die, the electrolyte just slowly leaks out.

“I’ve still got an ARC-5”
One of my first accomplishments, before getting my license
in 1958, was to take an ARC-5 and make it work, figuring out which pins, from where the dynamoter was mounted, were fil.,
B+ and grond.
A few years later I was running RTTY on a ART-13.
I had a fetish for the old military gear up to my last days
in 2005.

Doh! :')
That’s okay; we’ve prepared before and TWAWKI didn’t TEOT. I do wish they were right about more sun spots due. The consensus seems to be that they’re not.
Haven’t these guys been predicting “solar flare doomsday” for the last couple years now? Sounds like y2k part II.
As a matter of fact, just this week, C2CAM replayed a show featuring Ed Dames (Dr. Doom) from four years ago in which he spoke with certainty about a “kill shot” from the sun. (His source? Remote Viewing.)
I only posted this story as a matter for conversation, not because I believe in the doomsayers.
Yeah...that’s what I thunk...thanks.
