"The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity." NASA has been predicting "much higher levels" of solar activity for more than three years now, but Cycle 24 isn't cooperating. No mention of that in the article, of course.

It seems to me that the predicted sunspot activity for this coming cycle is very low, so I don't see it being a big problem.
It's the cold weather that is coming as a result of this that is going to be a bigger problem ... :-)
