Just checked. 6 meters is D-E-D dead. Nada. Nothing. Ziltch. Zero. Every 11 years, since I was 11 years old and got my first novice ticket, things have been jumping. We're going to miss a cycle. The normal human gets 5 or 6 when he can work DX using a 50mw Altoids can transceiver.
I'm getting cheated out of one.

I enjoy homebrew QRP too, but do not operate 6 meters. Am an old ham also. Extra & Commercial.
My favorite band is still 15 meters. A lot more openings, sporatic E.

Isn’t that a good thing, when it comes to trying to transmit? I mean doesn’t increased sun activity make radio transmission poor?

I learned Morse Code in the Navy...and USED it.
I can't imagine anything over 14mhz in daylight or 5mhz at night.
Hell, you're probably better off with 500khz at night and just turn the power up:)

You beat me to it, I always post, "looks like 10 and 6 meter DX is going to suck for a while." B-) B-P I'm also an amateur radio operator and if this is the case, looks like VHF-Lo skip is going to be quiet for a while. I remember there were times I picked up the California Highway Patrol in the 42 Mc band and South African police around 37 Mc. I don't know if they still use pagers in the 35 Mc range but they were good ways to see if the skip is coming in or not.
