Authorities say they arrested at least 80 people, mostly for drug-related offenses, at L.A.'s annual Love Festival music concert Saturday night.
Organizers had anticipated 7,500 music fans at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, where a host of LAPD officers, Los Angeles Fire paramedics, an emergency room doctor, nurses and five ambulances were at the ready. The festival strongly enforced its 18 and over policy.
"We also have people backing that up from the DMV to make sure any of those id's that are in question are good to go," Event Manager Todd DeStefano said.
CBS 2's Amy Murphy reported that there were new restrictions at the event, with the newest and most unusual change being the safety guide that was handed out to all concert goers. The guide warned against the dangers of Ecstasy use.
Electric music dance concerts and festivals have been under extra scrutiny by state, county and city officials after the recent death of 15-year-old Sasha Rodriguez. She died after taking Ecstasy at the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on June 27.
The Love Festival is one of three previously scheduled raves the Coliseum allowed to proceed as planned as authorities considered new security rules or banning the parties altogether.

You mean there was misbehavior at an organized assembly of FREAKS??? Seems impossible, doesn’t it!!
I’ve seen a few times lately where people are arrested, hurt or killed at these ‘love’ and ‘peace’ events. Irony!!
