This reminds me, in a oblique way, of the
Star Trek: The Next Generation finale 'All Good Things'. Wouldn't it be a bear if we detected something that massive, having happened billions of years ago, and it was rippling through the universe one galaxy at a time, just 'snuffing out' everything as it goes? Kind of an inverted Big Bang, if you will. And this planet, this galaxy, had only a few million years left before it arrived, and there wouldn't be one thing the human race could do to stop it from one generation to the next. Even in the distant future, if humans mastered the ability to jump across titanic distances of space to outrun it, they would do so knowing they were living on borrowed time. Oh, to be a fly on the wall over the eons as history unfolded, just to see how civilization conducted itself as the clock ticked closer and closer to midnight.
Make for one helluva sci-fi series, anyway.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
Send the schema of a script to Hollywood,...the story would be better than so much of what they turn out!
