Riel-Salvatore rejects the theory that they were exterminated by modern humans. Homo sapiens might simply have existed in larger groups and had slightly higher birthrates, he said.

And now they're gone. See what happens when you don't have good immigration controls.

Would eating a neanderthal constitute as cannibalism?

Thanks decimon. Time once again for...
The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve

in local libraries
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

“””Research shows they contributed between 1 and 4 percent of their genetic material to the people of Asia and Europe.”””

DID ANYONE CATCH THIS? They’ve denied this for years!!!! NOW it’s coming out, even in an article about that doesn’t insist they are grunting beats. IIIIiiiiiiinnnnnteresting!

Proudly 1-4% Neanderthal!!!

Neanderthals went 250,000 years with little advancement. Now all of a sudden a guy comes up with all this stuff in a manner kind of like they came up with the theories of global warming.

Thousands of years ago, southern Italy experienced a shift in climate, becoming increasingly open and arid, said Riel-Salvatore. Neanderthals living there faced a stark choice of adapting or dying out. The evidence suggests they began using darts or arrows to hunt smaller game to supplement the increasingly scarce larger mammals they traditionally hunted.

NO, this can’t be true.

There can not have been a major climate shift because everybody didn’t die.

When climate shifts happen, people don’t adapt, everybody dies. Ask Al Gore.

At least one or two gorillas which have learned deaf signs check out as having IQs in the 100 - 110 range i.e. adequate for half of American jobs. You could probably replace Bork Obunga with a gorilla... There’s no reason to think Neanderthals would have been stupid.

"It is likely that Neanderthals were absorbed by modern humans,"

I was under the impression the consensus was that homo sapiens and neanderthals didn't interbreed.
