Buying steaks through the mail is ridiculous, imo.

I can see FedExing exotic saltwater seafood to Nebraska, but there’s few places in the USA that cattle aren’t happy to give their lives for local consumption...

I have traveled, worked an lived around a good bit of the U.S. and as a general rule, you're right. I would say that my favorite "local" meats have been Kansas bison (I still order jerky from a place near Ft. Riley) and since moving to Louisiana, I've been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of local steaks here.

I won’t buy steaks through the mail because I like to hand pick the steaks I buy. I also like my steaks fresh rather then frozen.
