Razors are expensive and get dull way too quick and I started to think about a way to make them last much longer.
When we shave, we are not only cutting the bristle but we are also getting oils and dead skin on the blade.
This lead me to thinking what would clean the blades from this stuff. So I stared experimenting and came up the perfect solution...91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
I put some in container which I could put a lid on to eliminate evaporation. Then I used an old blade which I was about to throw away and vigorously rinsed it in the solution then in water.
I did this several times while I shaved and couldn't believe how smooth my face felt. BTW, it wasn't a top dollar razor, it was a Gillete Good News and I'm still using it after five more shaves.
Happy shaving Freeper's
Apparently! LOL!
Use double-edge:

Can get good used razors new or some great old ones on eBay.
All you had to do is tell them it was a Federally Approved FEMA Issued Blue Roof, just like all the ones still on the gulf coast.
Check out the link below. I have been using this method and have used the same Mach 3 blade for about 6 months. The blade seems to be sharper than new.
No linky :(
Personally I put my razor (Orange throw away Schick) triple in alcohol. Get two-three months from it instead of 2-3 weeks. Saves a few pennies.
Most amazing after the first time I tried it is how it came back when I thought it was done.
Must admit how Gillette haa kept their prices up over the years. Great marketing and products. But their days are over.
Monday night boxing used to tell me look sharp be sharp. Funny, my last few years, I worked for......Sharp.
I also keep denatured alcohol for extreme cleaning. It does not have water or glycerin added. Great prep for epoxy adhesives and great to clean your mouse or track ball.
