Telemetry cables...from sensors that ring the area for EQ and volcanics, I believe.
They just passed over a good sized crack in the seafloor.
I was wondering if the pink things were some flavor of coral, then just saw this on the text feed from the ship:
there have been some deep sea corals. In the control room we've been calling them flamingos.
Maybe this vid feed along with some real soft instrumentals in the background would help with my occasional insomnia !
