Freepers we have been hoodwinked by these Occupy Wall Street Protesters here in Washington D.C. Today I was asked by a good friend in the media to go down and interview some of the protesters, I arrived at Freedom Plaza expecting to see 100's of the same protesters from last weekend that were covered by the local media and Washington Post.
If there were 30 protesters, activists or whatever you want to call them milling about and moving stuff around, you would be lucky. The most damning factor that behind this astrotruf was the fact that there more tents there then people, some of the tents look brand new and like they haven't even been slept in at any time. I asked to speak with a protester and was told they needed to find someone to talk to me.
It seem that the Woman from Code Pink was running the show and outside of a few aging hippies and 5-6 college students the plaza was completely dead and it is hard to believe that U.S. Park Police caved to these clowns and extended there permit by 4 months, yet their astrotruf does not even take up half of the plaza!

we didn’t get hoodwinked. this was all a staged event for the media. There will be more useful idiots there this weekend, if it’s not raining. I suspect we will have more media there during the week than actual “protesters”.

I thought Nancy Pelosi said that the Tea Partiers were the astroturf ones, while Occupy Wall Street (GOD BLESS THEM SAYS NANCY) are a completely spontaneous and auhentic protest.

Its ALL political theater. There is absolutely NOTHING authentic about anything the left does.

Freedom for peaceful assembly doesn’t mean squatters rights to pitch tents and stay for weeks. They need to be uprooted, arrested on misdemeanors, and fined heavily...(work gangs along the littered highways).
In all fairness, it was raining cats and dogs in DC today, so it was only the true believers out there. The young’uns probably spent the day in the mall buying True Religion jeans and the like.
I just got an Obama fundraising e-mail...it used the term “You can own a piece of this movement”.

I would like to recall a certain Simpsons episode. I believe it was a Halloween special where all the ads and statues came to life. He wanted to eat the doughnut. Then Lisa suggested to ignore them and they will go away. I would imagine this concept would work with these people. If you just ignore them, they will stop coming around.
There’s supposed to be some big thing tomorrow....Al Sharpton’s rally and it looks like International ANSWER and the other rabble rousers are going to be out.
I’m surprised they didn’t try to recriut you, could have made some good money if you stay and get on camera, more if you actually said something.
I’ve been here (on FreeRepublic) all week, and I can say that no one here has been ‘hoodwinked’, at all! There has been no mention of this as anything other then astroturf. There have been accounts of the pay for the ‘protesters’, to the free food, tents and other services, including free drugs, this has no look of a true grassroots protest.
