One of the most active volcanoes in the world has been put on aviation color code red, the highest alert given by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team.
KVERT assigned the code on Tuesday and warns of an imminent eruption. "Activity of the volcano continuously increases," says the alert. "Strong ash explosions up to 42,640 ft (13 km) a.s.l. possible at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft.

That’s a perfect name (and a screen tag), Bezimianny means without a name!

Hmmmm....it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.....
There are alot magnetic anomalies in this area are due to the topographic effect of volcanoes but it does not affect the Earths magnetic field
“There are alot magnetic anomalies in this area are due to the topographic effect of volcanoes but it does not affect the Earths magnetic field”
While attracted to headline predicting volcanic eruption headline. My first reaction was this caused by the solar storm ?
Not 42,639 ft.
Not 42,641 ft.
42,640 ft.
Exactly.
Someone obviously slept through their "Significant Digits" lesson.
The idea that solar flares trigger earthquakes is far from widely accepted, but has received some serious attention from geophysicists. The theory is that the disturbances in the earth magnetic field, which causes instability in the plate tectonics.
But there is no evidence to support this theory.
I wonder if this is the big one I have been expecting that will more or less end the most recent “active earth” cycle I have described previously. Tambora in 1815, Katmai in 1911, this decade ???? Bezmianni has had some major eruptions, and perhaps is along a particularly active extension of the fault for the great FUkishima earthquake of 2011. Anyone have that fault information?
I don't know.
I thought of you last night when I read this article though:
"Polar ice samples have revealed just such a series of eruptions, says Robock: an especially big explosion somewhere in the world in 1258, and three smaller ones in 1268, 1275 and 1284. "
Thanks!
