This volcano is on one edge of a 15 mile diameter bay. There is also a city there. The bay is a huge caldera left by an eruption about 22,000 years ago. There was also a noticeable dip in global temperatures at that time. This is just a little one compared with history.

Kinda makes one nervous to think this is occurring on the periphery of a huge volcano. Especially with all the recent earthquake activity around Japan.
