That would be amazing!
I saw Halley Bop in zero light pollution in the desert at Ft Irwin.
I filmed it with night vision which increased the length of the tail 5 fold.
Then the unexpected happened.
I caught a shooting star bisecting the tail!

I remember the run up to Kohoutek, its was going to be the Comet of the century, outshine Haley in 1910...but it was just a chunk of mud.
I like comets but seeing is believing.

the closest approach happens in Nov-Dec 2013, but the whole tone of the article seems to imply that the closest approach is just around the corner, and we should start staring now.
