"Neanderthal Valley" is redundant, in the sense that the German word
Neanderthal means "Neander Valley."
But then again, I refer to New Mexico as Nueva Nueva España.

It's an old habit in Spain. The Romans called the city now known as Cartagena Carthago Nova. New Carthage. But "Carthago" means "New City" so Carthago Nova is "New New City."
Too bad the Spanish conquistadores did not name the city in Colombia "Nueva Cartagena."
