Such atrocious spelling for a graduate of the flagship of the UNC system. I'm embarrassed for my state.

That aside, the Mayans were accomplished astronomers. That there might have been some object such as a comet or asteroid behind their long count calendar was the only possibility that gave me pause about the whole thing.

So, Mr. Howard may have a point, but we're less than two weeks out, such an object would be observable well before now, I should think.
