It’s really science as a whole these days. They’re very quick to latch onto something, but way too slow to let it go. Consider the brontosaurus. We’ve known since the 1950’s that they didn’t really exists, but they can still be found in text books and museums today.
I worked in the Pharma industry for a number of years, both as a rep and manager and sold statins. Additionally, there are numerous studies that show that low cholesterol levels can affect the production and repair of the myelin sheaths around nerve fibers... so one has to wonder if the guideline suggested by Big Pharma and adopted by doctors to get cholesterol levels below 100 can lead to other issues like dementia and Alzheimers?
