I hate bees... They're responsible for about 1/3 of what we eat. I'm not so fond of spiders either and there's no love loss between me an wasps. Bees, however are facinating and I've just recently started keeping a hive. I spent yesterday in a bee yard checking on about 40 hives. They were all pretty well behaved even though we were disturbing them. I am far more comfortable with an unknown hive than I am with an unknown pit bull.

Have two queen packages due at the end of the month. I'm reading the beekeepers manual now,
and am really looking forward to getting my hives up & running!
