Neanderthals lived much more sparsely than Cro-Magnon — smaller, further separated groups. When they met, there would be many more Cro-magnons than Neanderthals. Let’s say there were twenty Cro-Magnons for every one Neanderthal. If they freely interbred, then about five percent of the genes of the spawn would be Neanderthal......
