This means what? Sounds like the plot for a doomsday movie on the SciFi channel.
Exactly. The next thing that happens is that everyone floats out into space and dies.
Pole shifts happen and we’ll survive.
Major CME activities from the sun at a time of magnetic flux could be a problem.
Back in the late 1800s and early 20th century magnetic north moved about 5 miles per year. In the latter half of the 20th century it moved around 35 to 40 miles per year. But it if is suddenly jumping to 322 miles per year something’s getting ready to happen.
I’m expecting a wobble when the pole flips causing strong enough to change the eccentricity of the Earth’s orbit and send up packing into the next ice age.
IF the poles shift if is likely that the earths magnetic field will blink off for some period of time. This exposes the earth to significantly increased solar radiation that can fry electronics and scorch human skin. There’s not a lot of research supporting a view of how long it will take to reestablish the protective magnetic field. It could be years
The magnetic pole and the Earth's axis are two different things. If it's just the magnetic pole then it's no big deal except for navigators, some electronic devices and your toilet bowl may spin the other way. But if it's an axis shift then major life style changes will have to be made (Note to self: Buy more ammo).
Change the declination on your compasses.
