Sarah Palin didn’t mince any words after “comedian” Bill Maher called her son Trig, who has Down Syndrome, “retarded.”

According to reports, Maher called Palin’s 5-year-old son Trig “retarded” this past weekend.

“Maher made the remark during a stand-up comedy show at the Palms Casino Resorts in Las Vegas Saturday, where he is in the middle of a residency. Trig suffers from Down Syndrome, a genetic disorder that can cause physical problems and intellectual disabilities in humans,” the report said. “One brave audience member, Ron Futrell, did fight back in Palin’s defense, and according to his blog ended up being escorted out of the event for confronting the HBO talk show host. Futrell, a former local TV host and outspoken conservative, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he has a special needs child of his own.”

But Palin took to Twitter in Trig’s defense and challenged Maher to talk to her in person:

Yep. Do you remember that old radical feminist slogan, "If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament!"? Well, for them it is precisely that, a sacrament. Trig's life is an affront to a truly evil religious belief whose true believers fancy themselves above religion. I used to think it overly melodramatic to accuse the pro-aborts of being worshippers of death but now I'm not so sure that isn't a literal truth, because when human beings have to die as a blemish to some imaginary perfect society, those believers have steeped themselves in evil.
