What good? There was no good in Mandela. He laid the groundwork for his own apartheid state.
Cruz is going to run for president, this is a good move to put him on the world stage. Remember, 99% of the earth believes Mandela is an angel so if Cruz disses this funeral, it will be used against him later.
Like any system that restricts human freedom, Apartheid was bound to fail. The only question was when and how. Yes, Mandela held abominable political views (although he apppears to have mellowed in his politics considerably by the time of his release from prison) but he at least guided Apartheid’s end to a reasonably soft landing. I’m just unhappy that F.W. DeKlerk hasn’t gotten credit for being the Gorbachev to Mandela’s Yeltsin; the former party appratchik who knew his beloved system was coming to an end. Haven’t heard his name mentioned once.
Whoa. Problem of South Africa is an example of what happens when a nation leaves its own borders and colonizes another. If the US knew how to pick their own cotton in lieu of bringing in Africans as slaves, we would not have to deal with a liberated group who wants vengeance on whites. think how much higher our test scores and lower our crime would be if we did not import blacks into this country. Same with South Africa, if the English and Dutch stayed in their own country and not go explore, exploit, mistreat and colonize Asia and Africa, they would not end up with legacy whites facing avenging Asians and Africans. You reap what you sow. Our fore fathers had and inkling of this and warned us not to go overseas and get entangled in overseas affairs.
Today we still have empire builders and police man of the world mentality in our society chomping at the bit to test out our high tech weapons on someone. South Africa is a lesson for the US to stay within the two vast oceans and the rich resource land that God gave us to develop a New World. Keep to that tenet and the US will have peace and prosperity for generations to come. Otherwise Homeland Security will be our way of life and constant puzzlement why the US is hated by many overseas.
