First they put the existing Carriage businesses out of business.
Then they ‘repeal’ it.
Then his good friend will start his own horse and carriage business and clean up.

This is the NY two-step all over again.

A successful business get puts out of business by a new one that is given tax credits the existing business does not get. The new company is touted as providing “new jobs”. The old company is put out of business by the new company.

Nothing to do with “cash”, instead it has to do with horse excrement, the good Mayor doesn’t want the competition.

You could be right, but I think it is much more likely that the site will end up as another high-rise condo monster. The papers are full of reports in the last few days that there is not enough inventory of high-end housing here to meet the demand.
