But really, it looks like he and the plant are being blown out of the horn or shell beneath him. Is he being made from the breath of a deity perhaps?
Also, the wavy line on the left looks like an elephant’s trunk to me— another thing that blows air.

Could it be an early representation of the symbolism behind Jesus Christ who is The Branch which bruises the serpents head, and is The Good Shepard with the staff, while the budding represents His rightful Priesthood as our the High Priest of the saved? It is found at the site of a monastery.
