OK...... I’ll provide a theory. A rational thought.

The Viking/Norse used some tool that being bronze, wore out, broke or became otherwise unusable. However, being bronze it could be easily melted and recast and become new again.

So, the brought along their crucible and perhaps a mold. It could also have been easily sand cast n
