A Chicago area man who was the long-time editor of The Onion does not believe the attack in Paris will have a chilling effect on The Onion staff or on any satirists.
There was an Onion article from 2012 with the headline, (American TV Channel) Nick Jr. Suspends Production on The Almighty Muhammads Porkalicious Toon Jihad.'
Scott Dikkers wasnt editor then, but hes a former editor and is still affiliated with The Onion and he remembers that story.
Dikkers does not believe The Onion will be deterred by the attack on Charlie Hebdo.
The culture at The Onion is one thats been forged by doing this kind of work for a quarter century now and its definitely instilled in the crew there that our job is to say what we think.

Sure. They’ll be happy to satirize Tea Party types no matter how many people the Muslims kill. What courage!
Sometimes I think The Onion and even the National Enquirer are the only real journalists with any real courage and integrity.
The MSM are all toadies for the Obama Regime and only print what is PC and acceptable to our Dear Leader.
It will just deter their webhost, their printer and the people selling them power... until they stop publishing Mohammed/muslim satire.
Satire publications worldwide should all publish the most insulting articles/cartoons possible this week.
Something like muhommed with a somewhat tall woman in a full cover burka in front of a playground saying ‘this 18 yo is too old - I am trading her for two 9 yos.’
If the FRENCH thought that multiculturalism was a good idea - today proved all that to be very, very, wrong!
Live Leak has the video (unedited) of the terrorist scum running by the injured police officer and shooting him in the head...
I remember a bunch of US Marines doing the same thing in a mosque where insurgents held up after attacking said Marines - where one Marine shot a wounded insurgent due to the fact that they pretended to be wounded only to cause further chaos and violence (knife, bomb, hidden gun)...and the WORLD went crazy - or at least the MSM did...
Islam has no place in today’s society! This attack - despite the call from moslems living in France denying support for this attack - shows the true face of Islam....it’s what the clerics preach - it’s what the imams state - it is what their beloved prophet instructs the followers to do...
This will be the norm and escalation will follow!
You can bet the Ferguson protestors were cheering that.
What they don’t mention is that they did a cartoon the same month of all manner of Gods and prophets of various religions (minus Allah and Muhammad) having sex with each other at an orgy, and said nobody was killed because of the image. Sure, it’s a satire on Muslim fanaticism, but it makes use of the paper’s own unwillingness to offend Muslim fanatics to make its point. That may be clever, but it embodies the very unwillingness to offend that the former editor claims the paper lacks.
Former Editor Of The Onion Says Paris Terror Attack Wont Deter Satirists
American News organisations heed to stand up and show they have a spine......too bad it is made of jello.
Has the Onion been hit at all? I’ll wait until it is before I listen to what tough-guy here has to say.

I say get as many of these images in front of as many people as possible! Media outlets' resistance to publishing such images shows their hypocrisy and dhimmitude!
HF
Yup.
Don’t expect the French cartoons to be shown on the Daily Show.
I predict a day when publishing satirical cartoons becomes a "hate crime" and retaliatory killing/massacre becomes "justifiable reaction" as a matter of official policy.
As of now, they have already asserted that they believe such killing can be "natural reaction", not much of a step to put us deeper down the rabbit hole.
