Zahi Hawass got accused of theft (something like removing something from a tomb without permission) and got canned last I heard. Here is a link to the article
He got the boot (for all practical purposes) during the late regime of Mo Morsi. He’s been in court continually since, two, three different sets of charges. I’m pretty sure he won’t ever return to authority again.
