Liquid water isn’t supposed to exist on Mars.

Keep in mind the surface temperature of Mars and the temperature 2 meters above the surface are vastly different.

It may be a balmy 77 degrees at your toes but your nose has severe frostbite.

There is actually about a little over one degree celsius window where liquid can exist on the Martian surface.
