What Trump understands that other 2016 hopefuls don’t (Jobs, jobs, jobs)

President Trump?

Nah, I don’t think so. The first thing he’ll do is build a couple of extra stories onto the White House. And within a week of taking office, Donald Trump will anger some country that has nuclear power.

And, really, why would Trump want to trade down on his residence? The White House — even with those extra floors — is so, ya’ know, ordinary. And the lawn is too small for even a Par-3.

Now that I have you thinking I’m going to bash Trump like most of the press has been doing since he announced his self-financed candidacy last week, I’m going to surprise you.

What Trump needs to do to break out would be to promise to prosecute lawbreakers in the previous administration. Lerner, Holder, Clinton etc...

He understands that 2016 is going to be fought on the battlefield of Economic Populism.

Frighteningly, he appears to be the only Republican who does.

What the more educated Freepers know is that while Trump does a fantastic job of putting a voice to some of what conservatives want to hear, he has some foolish ideas and a history that puts him far to the left of most of these RINOs you refer to.

Lindsey Graham has nothing to offer, thus he’s ignored. Trump is doing some things very damned well....which makes him dangerous. There were a lot of Freepers on his kool aid last time around, and the exact same conversations were had pro and con.

Most have gone through the embarrassment and recovered. I guess we’ll have another class this go round too - when he is outed as anything but a true tea party type conservative.

After our lack of morals, the lack of jobs is the biggest problem the nation faces.

So many problems would self correct if their were enough high paying jobs.

A lot more people would be conservatives if they have something worth protecting.

I have said from the beginning that if Trump runs on jobs he has a good chance. People are sick of being out of work.

His entire jobs plan is aimed at kissing the UAW’s rear ends primarily. He may not be a union shill, but he is definitely LIBERAL on unions over all.

Oh, that’s right. I guess he lost control of his own company after one of his multiple bankruptcy filings.

I think a lot of Freepers -- and maybe even Donald Trump himself -- are about to learn a terrible lesson about what exactly constitutes "economic populism" in America these days.

The problem with Trump, along with a lot of folks here on FreeRepublic, is that they are tailoring a campaign message aimed at a vanishing group of American voters who actually want to go to work in factories. The number of American adults who actually want a job at a Ford plant is probably dwarfed by those who want the government to bail them out of their mortgage, student loan and credit card debt.

Right now Trump is opening negotiations for the presidency. He is not running for the presidency. He is negotiating for it.

The other day in an interview Trump explained how you open negotiations. You first have to see who the players are. He called it tapping. You keep tap, tap, tapping the terrain to see what falls out. He is doing that by making bold outrageous statements to see what the cat drags in. Like a total amateur Hillary has stepped up taking the bait attacking Trump. He has now elevated himself at Hillary’s level. He has said many, many times that gov’t employees are terrible negotiators. Hillary is proving that. Trump has gotten under her skin. He wants to see who else he can pry loose as his first salvo.

Trump made the comment that Iranians are master negotiators tap, tapping the opponents into exhaustion. He has said repeatedly that the Iranians know how to wear you out and they are playing Obama and Kerry because they are terrible at negotiators. Hillary is no different. Trump knows how to use language in a way that democrats and republicans running for prez simply don’t know how. He is basically intimidating them.

He has now seen how Hillary reacts. She cannot help herself. She will keep taking the bait and he will dance her all along the chess board the way he wants. The MSM is no different. It will take the bait and Trump will lead them exactly where he wants them to go. They cannot help themselves. He will set the agenda and they will follow.

As I said Trump is negotiating to be prez which is a totally different approach than running for prez. When you negotiate you find out what people want and give it to them. When you run for president you lie and then appease and divide and conquer. The latter is simply not how Trump does things.
