Edward Snowden's ready to go to prison, waiting on answer from U.S.

Edward Snowden says he's offered "many times" to go to prison in the United States as part of a deal to return from exile in Russia but is still waiting for an answer from the American government.

The former National Security Agency contractor who leaked documents about top secret mass surveillance programs told the BBC in an interview he would be willing to reach a plea bargain with U.S. authorities.

"I've volunteered to go to prison with the government many times. What I won't do is I won't serve as a deterrent to people trying to do the right thing in difficult situations," Snowden said in the interview in Moscow, where he took refuge two years ago after his revelations about the scale of the NSA's snooping activities sent shock waves around the globe.

"So far, they've said they won't torture me, which is a start, I think, but we haven't gotten much further than that," he said.

Asked whether he and his lawyers were actively discussing deal with the government, Snowden replied, "We're still waiting for them to call us back."

Guess he’s worn out his welcome with the Ruskies

No more dirt to spill, they don’t need him anymore.

Very misleading title on this one. He's not negotiating anything with anyone, and he's not ready to go to prison... unless he can secure a really short sentencing agreement which isn't going to happen.

He better stay gone.

Has anyone ever shown any evidence that he has ever cooperated with the Russians? It was American stupidity that left him trapped in the Moscow airport, remember?

When word leaked that Anna Chapman had tried to seduce him and failed, you’d think that would have garnered some kind of grudging respect from “conservatives” here, who should have applauded it. Instead we got an ugly display of innuendo and advocacy of sin from Freepers who apparently would rather see someone sin than have their interpretation of someone’s character challenged, even if it proves for the better.

Better not have Kerry involved in this. Snowden would end being president. ;-)

Oh, and one more thing. I'll bet someone has a contract out for Mr. Snowden.

Turncoats are never trusted, even by the other side. The Russians have no use for him.

So, to Snowden, it’s better to be in prison in America than to be “free” in Russia?

Snowden should get a medal for opening the public’s eyes to what the government is doing to us. Instead most drink the Kool Aid and call him a Traitor. I don’t think he’s going to get back to the US unless he has something to bargain with though. Trump won’t help. If he’s elected President Snowden is out of luck.

They may offer him something like 20 years hard time.

Here's an article in the Washington Times. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/dec/8/anna-chapman-russian-spy-tried-seducing-edward-sno/. I have never had much success with the FR search system.
