The following year, 1816, was known as “eighteen hundred and froze to death” and “the year of two winters” when there was snow in June in North America, and killing frosts in July and August.

They taught us this in grade school.

Let's hope Yellowstone doesn't throw a tantrum in our lifetime....

The same thing seems to have happened in 536, with worldwide effects.

Thanks for the link. Interesting read and not obviously ‘agenda science.’

It’s nice to remember that there are just some things humans can’t do much about.

Thank-You for posting the article. It explained a lot: earth science, art, literature, and a study of the human condition. Well done!

... Mary Shelley's storm-lashed novel Frankenstein...

Even today, it remains as the best novel ever written by a teenager.

That was a genuine climate changer -- and, probably a major contributor to the atmosphere's current 400 ppm of CO2.

~~~~~~~~~~~
And, now, the "Gorebull Wahrumists" are in a panic over a few ppm of CO2 and a fraction of a degree of (dubiously-measured) temperature change...
Just about when we “solve” global warming, this will happen again and we’ll be crying for global warming.
Weesa gonna die?
But seriously, I don’t like thinking about things like Yellowstone erupting or even the less damaging prospect of an Atlantic megatsunami caused by the eventual collapse of Cumbre Vieja. I figue I’d die of asthma from Yellowstone. I live in Manhattan meaning I’m SOL on Cumbre Vieja.
