Am I losing my mind? Donald Trump gives me the creeps at times. He offends my Christianity. His persona turns me off. He can be all other the map in terms of consistent principles. But there is something inside of me that wants him to kick the stuffing out of the powers that be. Even though I am a Cruz man I could see myself voting for the guy. Am I losing my mind?
It fades away after the election.
We are the new normal.
(Actually we were the old normal as well.)
No.
I find myself thinking I’ll vote for him just so stick it to everyone else.
That actually may explain his popularity.
You are hardly alone.
You’re not having a mental breakdown, rather you’re on the road to an epiphany.
Just remember your ABCs and you’ll stay out of the ditches.
Trump appeals to the demons in people. He sells very similar positions to Cruz’s, but instead of appealing to patriotism and tradition, he appeals to anger and frustration.
And the left will reign free. Good plan.
It’s called pragmatism...
Yes. Yes, you are losing your mind. NEVER TRUMP
Daughter tired & grumpy?
I was a kid in 1980.
Well, if GOD can use a donkey (according to the Bible) .. I think Trump is way ahead of that; and his LOVE of America is more important to me right now.
I’m still supporting Cruz, but if Trump/Cruz materializes, I will definitely support it.
When the Republican establishment put up candidates like McCain and Romney I gave up on them and switched to Independent.
The Republican party is left of JFK and they have no problem destroying a person who is doing what they claim they wanted, that is, pulling Reagan Democrats over, making a bigger tent and as a result, GROWING the Republican party.
It is clear to me that the powers that be in the Republican party are content to be in last place as long as they can hold on to the power they have. If it means thwarting the majority, so be it.
I am voting for Trump to keep Hillary out of the white house, and, to get rid of the entrenched GOP establishment.
You cannot cure cancer with a pretty band aid. You have to have radical surgery. Trump is a cure to the disease, but he is not the long term solution.
Cruz is not establishment, but he does not grow the party and therefore, does not win elections. I would not fault anyone voting what their heart tells them. My heart tells me that if I vote for Cruz it guarantees Hillary wins and that is a massive blow to all things conservative. I do not see as Trump being a different version of the same as Hillary, I see him as a different brand of Cruz.
Trump can win and root out the cancer on both sides of the isle.....to me...he is chemo.....he makes your hair fall out, makes you throw up...weakens you....but he is a cure and a beginning of a recovery.
A case of right message, ringmaster messenger. I am voting for the right message part.
I voted for a Communist once, in my callow youth. But only because he was the only fellow running against the Democrat in that election for that office.
But after that, I decided that that wasn’t really the message that I wanted to send with a protest vote, and never did it again.
A vote for Cruz is the opposite of “kicking the stuffing out of the powers that be”. He IS “the powers that be”. He’s the tool the GOPe is using to assure that the status quo remains the status quo. They worry that Trump in the White House, working with a kick-ass Attorney General, will shed sunshine on the corruption and cronyism that’s rife in the underbelly of DC politics. Just my two cents...
But pray about it and vote your conscience.
As a Christian, I do not believe in the death penalty.
I believe everyone should have the option to accept Christ who may never have been exposed to scripture.
I’m not going to condemn someone.
As an American, I am acutely aware of corrupt politicians who use crime to further their power and re-election campaigns. I don’t support it.
He has a choleric temperament rather than a melancholic temperament. He is a born leader that is strong willed, exudes confidence, and is dynamic, active, and must correct wrongs. Since he is not melancholic, he will not be expected to be deep and thoughtful, analytical, or philosophical.
Cruz gives me the creeps at times. He offends my Christianity. His persona turns me off. He can be all other the map in terms of consistent principles. But there is something inside of me that wants him to kick the stuffing out of the powers that be.
Sorry I feel the same way about your guy. I am serious. That is exactly how I feel about Cruz.
Ditto, sir!
