There are housing shortages in every US job-creating region I know.
People like my friend need massive (~$1,000/month/housing unit) federal housing subsidies, as do hundreds of thousands of the people who live in the DC area.
Without housing, a talented actor can not work in the Los Angeles area.
Without housing, a maid can’t clean a hotel room in Falls Church, Virginia.
The Chinese simply do not permit people to live in a city without a permit.
Hard work isn’t enough. A willingness to assimilate isn’t enough.
There must be enough housing that is price matched to the wages paid.

I'm actually going to ping this one, although, 1) I think a topic very like this has been posted before, 2) the comparison is specious, Rome didn't fall because of 'illegal immigration', and 3) I have no use for any such historical parallels/history comes in cycles nonsense. the gist of this seems to be that the Romans let the goths in and then weren’t generous enough with giving them provisions so they destroyed Rome. What’s the point, that Europe needs to treat the muslims better? That won’t do anything but delay the inevitable, if that.
