the conclusion of the article may not be correct. The assumption is that you must let them in and then treat them nicely. Doesn’t have a prescription for not letting them in in the first place.

They don’t bring up how you only have two choices:
A. assimilate the horde - and do so by ensuring they don’t set up enclaves
B. don’t let the horde in.

You can have multiculturalism or mass immigration of groups - but not both without Balkanization.

“Follow the rules, and demonstrate willingness to process into what makes America great.”

Is that working well for the Somali refugees and other Muslim communities?

It is way past that time. I’m in for the long haul on that chore.

They promised to be good citizens, and when the freebees didn’t work out they revolted.

I agree the situation today is worse, but even this better situation didn’t work out so well.

Thus a teachable moment.

They promised to be good citizens, and when the freebees didn’t work out they revolted.

Well, they went from being promised provisions from the Romans to starving because of Roman corruption...

Not surprising they revolted...

Today's version is revolting for no internet access, no house in the countryside, no maid service, actually living within the law...

The horror...
