Exactly

Kids raised the Arthur who knows best how to raise kids way

Some you have to spank

Some you don’t

I’ve got two who needed spankings bad

I’ve got two who are sensitive and my growl was holy plenty

I’ve got one who needed a wee bit but not much

I got a lot of spanking mostly unneeded but I still admire my dad more than any man ever lived

Some snowflakes just can’t handle

But it’s funny how they run that mouth

Obviously never having to back it up

Where I was raised till aged 15 when dad hit the chips

Blue collar Deep South semi urban white

You ran that mouth and challenged or belittled folks you could get hurt unless you could back it up

This forum is replete with those who never cashed that check

Of the four kids we have, I only used spanking once for discipline. IOW, three of my kids never needed spanking and one of them just once.

My eldest caused minor harm to our youngest and I instinctively slapped him. He said "you hit me." We were both kind of stunned at the sequence of events.

I quietly hate myself for striking him but he got the message instantaneously about rough housing around a 5 month old.

There is a huge difference between abuse and slap or two on the butt to get the kids attention. Especially if they are wearing diapers. ;)

My sister and I were hit with a spatula and I went to school with bruises on my arms. Had to wear long sleeves. I remember hiding under the table in the basement, but my mother dragged me out, to continue beating me up.

It is not easy being a parent. But there’s a difference between trying to correct a child, for his or her good, and taking out your anger on them.

If a little toddler is trying to cross the highway, and you have to slap him or her on the butt so they know you mean business, I don’t think that’s wrong.

As I said, it’s not easy raising children. You just have to pray for guidance.
