"In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat," Trump told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in a 2004 interview. "It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Now, it shouldn't be that way. But if you go back, I mean it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats. ...But certainly we had some very good economies under Democrats, as well as Republicans. But we've had some pretty bad disaster under the Republicans." Trump still attacks plenty of Republicans today, but the comments praising Democrats are in stark contrast to the fiery rhetoric he deploys against them on the campaign trail, including President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton

If he was what I`d call a “JFK/Scoop Jackson” democrat, that’s understandable. He didn’t leave so much as they left him.
You should have seen me on interviews in Manhattan for VERY GOOD jobs in the 90s.
I sounded darn near left of center in my agreement with the interviewer :)
I could have kept my dignity but food and shelter seemed kind of important.
Once you are entrenched, you can spout your politics. And I did.

Hmmm. I just learned tonight that my Obama loving, Clinton loving, Bush hating, Reagan hating sister-in-law LOVES TRUMP.

....and so was I. Then I went to a Republican and now a Conservative.
Yes, true — twice. New York State voting records show he changed his registration 6 times. He’s been a Republican three different times, a Democrat twice, a member of the New York Independence Party once, and an independent.
Early on I considered myself a democrat because where I grew up EVERYONE was a democrat.
So was Reagan.
So that should make Trump a great president.
Glad he wised up!
