You dont need color images when the missions main goals are to map Jupiters magnetic and gravity fields, determine the planets internal composition, and explore the magnetosphere.No, but crisp color images help sell further space exploration.

Pretty good considering visual images aren’t part of Juno’s primary mission. The camera for visible images is relatively low quality and is there mainly for public relations.
