I visited Campi Flegrei last Spring. Lots of steam, the earth was hot to the touch, but not much seismic activity currently. Still, you are right, with Vesuvius considered still active, the area is active recently enough. I don't know if the earthquakes in central Italy are related though. Do you?

No I do not. Havent really paid much attention to that one until these past weeks.

As far as Yellowstone is concerned. These events of the last few years are pretty normal for that system. Will it blow? YUP. WHEN? Dont know. How big? Dont know. But even the latest ones did not do the damage like the doomsdayers are claiming.

I would guess a VEI 5 or something like that and not a super eruption. A tad bigger than St Helens. Maybe something like Tambora in 1815-16 which created havoc all over the world.

These dam freaks and their panic producing web sites..they do this to get hits on their web sites.
